Our Routine

Tree Bears Preschool Flexible Daily Routine

8:30am – Welcome children and families.  The Tree bears environment/activities reflect the children’s current interests.  During the day teachers will reset activities based on the needs, direction and interests of the children’s play.

 

9:25am – Children are encouraged to tidy up before mat time begins, Mat time takes place for the children who wish to join in.  This is a wonderful way to bring the children together and welcome them at the start of their Tree Bears day.

 

9:45am – We now transition to morning tea; we take turns at washing our hands then join our friends at the tables. 

 

10:0am - Toileting routine begins, nappies are checked and changed if required.  Children who are toilet training are encouraged to use the toilet.

 

We learn through play in the preschool environment. During this time a wide range of activities are available inside and outside for the children to engage in.  These activities are based on the interests of the children.

 

11:20am – Children are encouraged to tidy up before mat time begins, Mat time takes place for the children who wish to join in.  This mat time is a fun music session which is based on the children’s interest.

 

11:30pm – Mat time

 

11:55pm - We now transition to Lunch; we take turns at washing our hands then join our friends at the tables. 

 

12:00 - All seated at tables.

 

12:30pm – Toileting routine begins; nappies are checked and changed if required.  Children who are toilet training are encouraged to use the toilet.  Sleepers are readied for bed.

 

We learn through play in the preschool environment. During this time a wide range of activities are available inside and outside for the children to engage in.  These activities are based on the interests of the children.

 

2:20pm – Toileting routine begins; nappies are checked and changed if required.  Children who are toilet training are encouraged to use the toilet.

 

2:50pm - Children are encouraged to tidy up before mat time begins, Mat time takes place for the children (who wish to join in)  

 

3:00 - Afternoon tea 

Farewell mat-time

 

3:30pm- Home Time.

 

Sleep and meal times also take place throughout the day at flexible times according to the children’s needs. We value the importance of enabling your child to continue their usual individual eating/sleeping routines while at preschool.

8:30am – Welcoming children and families. Learning through play, in the preschool environment.

 

9:20am Mat time takes place for the children who wish to join, we have stories songs and other activities such as puppets stories and magnetic stories, which is planned based on the children’s current interests.

 

9:30am We now transition to morning tea; we take turns at washing our hands then join our friends at the tables to say our Karakia before we eat!

 

10:00am Toileting routine begins (children are checked, nappies are changed)

-Learning through play in the preschool environment.

 

10:20am Learning through play in the preschool environment. During this time the following activities are available for the children who wish to join in.

Story time

An Art/Creativity activity inside/outside

Music session inside/outside

Water play

 

11:30 – 1200 Lunchtime children wash hands and sit down for lunch.

After lunch: Toileting routine begins (children are checked nappies are changed)

12:00am Toileting routine begins (children are checked nappies are changed and toilet trainers are reminded and encouraged to go to the toilet)

-Learning through play in the preschool environment, children are able to float inside and outside (programmed activities are available both inside and outside)

 

12:00pm - Quiet inside activities such as stories at rest time for children who require a rest (Sleepers go to the Nursery for sleeps)

2:00pm Toileting routine begins (children are checked nappies are changed and toilet trainers are reminded and encouraged to go to the toilet)

 

3:10pm Afternoon tea children wash hands and sit down for afternoon tea.
